If it were possible, Kaige looked as if someone had thrown a thousand bricks on him. 'Good god, she must be mentally insane...' he thought in his mind, almost laughing out loud at the thought. 'But I should have known that a long time ago..' Kaige snorted softly, ignoring the way Shinrin was looking at him. She had really not known it was him? Was she that messed up? He didn't know, and frankly, he didn't care.
"Why does this always happen to me?" he asked, the question not directed to either of the females near him. "I must be cursed for life," he growled, the acid in his tone clearly evident. He vaguely wondered if this was how his life was going to be for the rest of eternity. Would it always start over constantly? Would it always be the same thing? If it was, he didn't want to take any part of it. "I'd rather live in a hole," he muttered, continuing to glare out into the horizon.

Shinrin stared blankly into Kaige's eyes. After a few moments, her eyes returned to normal size, and she actually appeared normal. "I..I thought you left." She wouldnt say any more outloud that she didnt mean to, but in her mind, she spoke to Kaige. 'Why? Why did you come back? I thought you hated it here....' She paused, and it actually occured to her that the one she could not get over was standing right infront of her. thousands of thoughts swirled through her mind...this could be her last chance! She could try to get him back! But what does he think of her? He probably doesnt want this...but why did he come back? He must have known Shinrin was still here...The many thoughts circulated through her head at the speed of light.
At long last, her senses returned to her, and she realized she had just shown Kaige how insane she had become. She realized that she had ruined everything. She had no chance, she was sure. She stood up straight and tall, her tail swishing behind her. She didnt want Kaige to see her insane anymore, she wanted, even if it was the last time, she wanted him to see her as her again. Shinrin gave a small smile and once more spoke to Kaige inside her mind. 'I thought I would never see you again. Dont worry, Im not trying anything. I heard you last time, and I completly understand. I shouldnt have been so suprized to see you angry with me. It was just...odd. I had never seen you that angry...not at me.' Her smile only widened.
'I dont want your forgiveness, I only want to say Im sorry. for everything. I ruined your life. I tried to fix it...I guess I never was any good at that. And when you died....I couldnt stand thinking that I would never see you again. I couldnt stand knowing that you were dead. How stupid I was to take you from your...comfort. At least there you were not in pain. ' She glanced up at the single feather dangling from her head. That life she gave up...she didnt care anymore. She began thinking back a little more. All the times she had tried to just...die. How weak she had been...it was not because she was not with Kaige, it was because she taught herself that she could not live with out him. It was only just now, looking into his eyes, that she realized this, that she found herself. And realizing this, she just...felt stronger. All those thoughts racing through her mind had just...disapeared, and she was sane again.
And for at least one more time, Shinrin was...Shinrin. Not the emo, selfish, sad, weak wolf she had become. She was herself. All from looking into Kaige's eyes. Shinrin smiled. 'Kaige....' Her tail swished behind her.

"What?" His voice was full of sarcasm and fake surprise as he pushed himself up onto all fours to turn around and look at Shinrin. "You can't say all of that out loud?" He laughed once, humorlessly, and shook his head. "Is it because another female is in my presence or what?" he asked, glancing quickly over to Akuma before looking back to Shinrin. He hated the fact that he held the power that he had. Anyone could easily talk to him telpatically. At least his thoughts were protected, though. He wasn't going to complain about that.
His maw parted as he started to say something, but nothing came. Snapping it shut, he abruptly turned his head away, cursing mentally. Truth be told, he couldn't really think of anything to say. He had already said what he wanted to say; what was the point in saying it again? He was tired of bickering and running. It was childish; immature. He was done with that. "You can say all you want, Shinrin," he said, turning his expressionless gaze back to her, "but that doesn't change anything. I'm sure you're aware of that, though." His crimson hued gaze held hers for longer than it should have, but there was nothing there. Nothing in his eyes, anyway. It was easy to mask his true feelings. That, he had learned over the years.

Shinrin just smiled back at Kaige. This time she spoke out loud. "No. It was because I wanted to talk to you, not her. " Her tail continued to sway behind her. "Like I said, I wasnt asking your forgiveness. And I know it doesnt change anything. I think Im finally understanding you Kaige." She glanced around the forest. It didnt feel like it was asking for her to just die anymore. She smiled, then turned around, taking a few steps away from Kaige, but stopped. She turned back her head to look at him. "Alright Kaige. You give the word. If you tell me to leave, I will leave. Tell me to get out of the forest forever, I will go. Tell me to drop down dead....well...I will have to ponder on that one. Tell me to stay and talk a bit..I will. Tell me to buzz off, and I will try my best to sprout wings like a bee and fly away. Your the alpha again, and Im coming to you again. Just like back then, back when you were alpha. You told me to stay. You said I couldnt help what I was feeling, that you felt the same." She kept smiling. "Redo. You have that choice again. You can make me leave, or make me stay. " She didnt know why she suggested it, she just..did.

"I'm not going to tell you to do anything," Kaige replied, looking at her as if she was crazed. "I have no authority to. I'm not the alpha, nor am I anywhere close to holding that much power. You're free to do what you want." He shrugged nonchalantly, pulling his gaze away as the trace of a frown formed across his maw. Truth be told - again - he wasn't sure if he wanted her to stay or go. But, like he said, he couldn't tell her what to do, even if she was the one that told him he had the power to.

Shinrin turned around, sitting herself down in the grass. "Kaige. Do I even know what I want? I want what you want. That is why I asked you. On one paw...I want to stay. Why?" She glanced around. "Its home, sorta. My sisters still live here..." One that she let out a small growl. "And well...I cant rest until I kill them...any who...and well...there are other reasons...now. Anyways...on the other paw, Ive nothing here. Not anymore. But I cant go back. Thats why I asked you. No...your not alpha anymore. But....I would still like your opinion Kaige. " She stopped, as if pondering. "Hm." She mumbled to herself.

Akuma sighed to herself, watching the two go back and forth. Clearly this Shinrin character thought Kaige was something. And apparently he was an alpha before, which was almost not suprising, for one reason or another. 'Akuma... you're boring. Honestly, I'm more entertained by watching this slave girl over here beg for this Kaige fellow then reading your thoughts.' Akuma growled at Setanya. 'Setanya... that's how it's always been, bitch. I've always been boring, remember?' She asked the evil little thing sarcasticly. She really wished it would just die. Painfully. [/size][/blockquote]

"Again," Kaige started, careful to keep his voice and expression void of any emotion, "I'm not going to tell you what to do. You're old enough, Shinrin. I do believe you can make your own decisions. These aren't my lands, so I can't tell you what to do. Even if they were mine, I still wouldn't tell you what to do. I'm not going to make decisions for you. You decide if you want to stay or go. Not me." He was silent after that, staring at her intently. Still, he had no idea if he wanted her to stay or go, but as he said, he wasn't going to make the decision for her. With a quiet sigh and a shake of his head, he turned his attention back to Akuma. "I bet you feel left out," he said, only being somewhat sarcastic. If anything, he sounded tired and aged, as if all of this was wearing him down. And, in a way, it was. "Anyway..."

Shinrin let out a light sigh. She sat down, her back to Kaige as she pondered on this thoughts. She could hardly believe Kaige was even here. "I could make my decision Kaige, but in the end, it still comes down to you." She turned around, then glanced over at Akuma. She had completly forgotten about this female. She nodded, then stood back up to her paws. "Kaige...Im not sure if your really here, or if its just me going crazy again, but Im going to talk to you anyways." She paused, looking up as she thought about how she was going to word things. Finally, she came up with an idea. She looked over at Kaige, looking him in the eyes. "Kaige...I need to talk to you, but not here. Not now. So...if you can, if you want to...meet me by the Sachi WAterfall." She frowned. "I dont want to burden you two any further. But Kaige...if you can bear me just a little bit longer, I would like to talk to you by the Sachi Waterfall." A small smile appeared on her maw. She looked over at Akuma. "Sorry to take up your time." Then she looked back at Kaige, nodding. And with that, she turned around and began to retreat into the trees.

"Great," Kaige muttered, watching Shinrin's retreating figure. "I'm still left to make a decision." He didn't want to go; he had had enough of Shinrin. But, at the same time, he wanted to go because, unfortunately for him, curiosity got the best of him. The only way to cure it was to go, but would he? "I hate this stuff." Kaige growled quietly, glaring down at the ground. 'Well... should I stay or should I go?' The question remained unanswered in his mind until an idea came to him. Turning his gaze to Akuma, he shrugged apologetically and pushed himself up. "I'm sorry to leave, but if this gets her off my back..." He grinned very faintly, nodded once, and turned to head off into the trees.
