Thanatos. It was a deadly name. To some, it was like poison. To others, well, they didn't want to say it. It wasn't as if it were a bad name. It didn't mean anything terrible. Okay. That was a lie. Most wolves considered it a bad name and it did mean something terrible. It did mean death, after all. What was worse than death? Well, there probably were things that were worse than death itself, but most wolves couldn't come up with anything else. And a wolf whose name meant Death and could cause it, well, that was definitely something to be afraid of.
Of course, Thanatos preferred it that way. He wouldn't be annoyed constantly by t he many brainless wolves that were living in this world. He could just kill them all if he really wanted to, and most of the time, he wanted to. And he did. It was getting to be too easy, though, and easy was boring. He needed to mix things up a bit and he intended on doing that, hence the reason why he had even joined this pack in the first place. He did better on his own mainly because he liked it that way, but it was beginning to get boring. This 'pack life' intrigued him somewhat, but that meant he would have to loosen up on his killing or even stop completely. It didn't bother him too much. He would just take a break from it and then continue on when he decided to leave.
He was somewhere in the lands, not all to sure where exactly. He noticed there was a river near to him and noted that it wasn't the most perfect. He liked that. Its imperfections made it seem real and not fake like most things he had come across were. He began to make his way towards it, his long legs carrying him quickly to his destination. The snow crunched under his large paws and it seemed to melt away when he stepped over it. The grass that was nearly dead beneath the cover of the snow seemed to die even more than it already had. Things seemed to just shrivel as he either walked over them or walked past them. He took no notice of this, though. He was quite used to it.
Finally. He was at the river now. He lowered his head to the murky waters below and lapped up some of it. He didn't care that it was dirty. Hell, some of the time dirty things tasted better. The water wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. But, again. He didn't care. When he finished, he sat back upon his powerful haunches and gazed around the area, his red eyes showing little interest.. He was fairly larger than most wolves were supposed to be, but that was because he was part God. His fur was mainly a sleek black that was smooth and silky to the touch. A reddish to crimson color covered his ears, the tip of his tail, and halfway up all of his legs. There was a strange red marking on his neck where a spiked leather collar rested, part of a broken chain hanging down from it. Another red marking, one that appeared to look somewhat like half a moon, could be seen on his forehead. Two black biohazard symbols were visible of his front legs. His tail was longer than average along with his ears. He hand longer fur starting from the sides of his face and down to his chest. His tail had longer fur as well.
He wasn't horrible looking like some would think due to his name; he was fairly handsome if you were into that sort of 'look' he owned. But nobody really cared about that. Everyone usually got an eerie or fearful feeling when they came anywhere near him. He was aware of this and it made him snicker in thought. He enjoyed being who he was; he didn't see anything wrong with him.
He was the bringer of death, after all.

A small gray wolfess trotted her way elegantly to the river, far away from everyone around her and frankly not in the mood to talk anyways. She was quite freaked out... she had recently had a vision... and it was pretty disturbing. She didn't want to think about it. What she had seen would disturb most wolves. And most beings, to be honest.
Athena - as she was called - looked down into the gray waters and took a little bit of a sip. It didn't taste as good as some of the water around her... and it didn't help that it would be frozen if it wasn't constantly moving... even if it was moving slowly.
Sighing, Athena sat down back a bit far away from the river itself, just watching it flow... not seeing there was another wolf close by. A very evil one too. [[Sorry about the crappyness. /= I have no jizz right now.]]

Someone else was there. The scent came to him from downstream. His head turned a fraction of an inch and his red eyes scanned in on the surrounding area. He spotted the other wolf, a female, by the looks of it, but made no attempt to introduce himself. He snorted softly as his massive tail wrapped around his body. Him? Being social? It was a funny thought. Thanatos was never one to say much unless he was in the process of killing someone. But that was a different matter, though. It didn't really count. He turned his gaze away from the female and began to studying the things around him. There was nothing of interest here, not where he was. At least it wasn't all 'pretty' and 'fake' looking. He could live with this whole grungy discolored thing.
With an idle yawn he pushed his large frame up and began to make his way down the river, careful to avoid the female. He didn't care to make even small talk. He had other things on his mind and they didn't involve being friendly. Of course, he would have to clean most of his act up here. He wasn't just a loner anymore. He had to be careful of his actions now that he had ventured into this so called pack. It would be hard, but he could manage for the time being. It wasn't as if he was going to stop all together. He could never do that, it wasn't like him. OOC:} Ugh. Sorry that sucks terribly. I couldn't come up with anything.

Athena didn't like the looks of this wolf, though she didn't make a big attempt at being friendly. She wasn't in the mood to be happy. Athena had no reason to be upset... though she just seemed to have these random mood swings that could always change. Not bipolar-like... just strange. None the less, she could smell that he was obviousally in her pack... and decided to at least aknowladge his presence.
"Hello." She mumbled lightly as he passed her in her cool little voice. There was no sense of brightness in it... nor was it depressed. Rather nutreal, imperfect. The time she had spent in the Nozomi Lands had changed her. When she first came here... she was absolutely perfect. She'd still seem so now if you hadn't seen her before this.... though knowing Athena before would make you think she had lots of flaws. Strange.

Thanatos froze momentarily and his red eyes narrowed. He was hoping she wouldn't have said anything to him, but it looked like that wasn't going to happen. She didn't seem to want to say anything more, though, and that was a relief. He had never once really had a real conversation and he wasn't sure how they were supposed to go. Of course, he didn't really care either way. He wasn't one to be friendly. The thought of that made him snort with laughter but he quickly came to a stop with that. He didn't want this female to think he was utterly mad or something, although she could probably tell that he wasn't the nicest wolf around.
He figured it would be best to reply, and not in a rude way. If he was going to be in a pack, he had to straighten up for the time being. With an exagerrated sigh, he turned his head slightly to see her and spoke. "Hello," he replied flatly, almost as if it bored him to reply. He couldn't think of anything else to add to that and he didn't really want to, but he had to do what he had to do. "I'm.. Thanatos," he added as an afterthought, figuring it would be best to at least introduce himself. He planned on saying nothing else after that, but he was sure the female would say a little more. And he would have to reply to that. This was going to be more difficult than he thought it would be. [/blockquote]

Athena figured he wanted to talk just as much as he did... which made things a little better. She found that it would be rude not to introduce herself, so she decided to at least do that. "I'm Athena." She replied in a very practiced nothings-wrong voice. Though if you watched her eyes... you'd find an overdoes of sadness. But who would bother caring about her? No one, just like always. She figured he wouldn't want to talk anymore... but stood there anyway, incase on some off-chance he did.

His muzzle twitched slightly and he remained rooted to the spot he was at. He hadn't expected her to say her name, but what wolf wouldn't when you introduced yourself? "Ha," he muttered almost inaudibly as he came up with one. Himself. But, of course, he had to play it nice here. He looked back to the female, trying to look somewhat polite, but he was failing miserably. "Right...," he said slowly, not sure of what to say. He went over a few things in his mind that he had picked up from watching 'well behaved' wolves. "It's nice to.. meet you." The way he said it made it seem like it was killing him. Athena smirked, slightly amused by this wolf's tone of voice. He seemed in pain to even say that it was 'nice to meet her.' She was used to it though, being ignored. It was her life. "I really can't be that meanicing, can I?" She asked with a wry smile. Athena was the least-meanacing person you'd ever meet. With a snowy white pelt, and bright red ears, a tail, and paws, she'd actually look quite happy. The only trace of sadness were in her big, clear blue eyes. That's where the truth was held.

Mentally, Thanatos cursed himself. He shouldn't have said anything in the first place. Conversations weren't his thing. 'Get it together, idiot. You wanted a change, you got it. Now suck it up' he thought in his head which caused him to scowl irritably. He had gotten himself into this mess and he was the only one who could get himself out. He did need to get over himself. He wanted to do this, he had to deal with the consequences. He rolled his eyes skyward and muttered something under his breath before turning back to Athena. "I don't know," he said, forcing himself to be polite. What he really wanted to say was something along the things of 'I don't know, I don't want to know, so leave me the hell alone.' But he bit down on his tongue before that could slip out.
"I don't know you, so..." He let his sentence drift and his red gaze turned elsewhere. What else was he supposed to do? At least she wasn't being a pansy. Or hostile. He had to give her props for that. She didn't seem to fear him like most wolves. Maybe that was a good thing. Or maybe it was a bad thing. "Oh, who cares!?" he said out loud, his voice low and full of venom. His eyes snapped back to her and he froze. Well. That was great. She was probably going to think he heard voices in his head and that he was insane. But wait... why did he care? He shook his head, cursing under his breath, and looked away. So much for first impressions.

"Hmm? No... nevermind." Athena said, shaking her head and letting it go. She wasn't sure why he had said what he had said... but she wasn't going to pester him about it. Wel this wolf was definatly... different... to say the least. She sort of wanted to run away from this insane, messed up wolf... but she wasn't one to do that. At least he wasn't trying to kill her. That was always a plus.

It was clear to him that she thought he was mad. He could tell from the expression on her face. But, oh well. What was it to him? Nothing. Yes, it was nothing at all. It didn't bother him in the least. He now had to debate over whether or not he should continue talking with this peculiar female or just leave it at where it was and wander off on his own. It would have been an easy decision had he not been in a pack, but the rules were different now. He couldn't come off as a rude bastard, but he didn't want to appear to be overly friendly, or at least mostly friendly. Thinking about all of this was beginning to give him a headache, not to mention it was highly irritating.
"I think I made a mistake," he muttered quietly, annoyed with himself. If he couldn't live up to this 'pack life' he was going to have to call it quits. The problem was, though, he didn't like to quit. Quitting meant failure and failure was not an option with Thanatos. He glowered into the distance, fuming mentally. He would have to stay.

Athena could tell it was quite obvious he was new to the whole 'friends' thing. Even if not friends... something of non-enemies would be more relevant. She wasn't quite sure of what to say, but knew something had to be said if she was going to be anything of a polite wolf. "So uhm... are you new to the pack?" She asked, not sure what else to say and noticing that he did smell like their pack.

"No, actually, I'm not," he said with a malicious grin and an evil glint in his red eyes. He turned, and without another word, ran off into the darkness that was surrounding them.

What Athena had feared had been true. The Nyoka Pack - as she had predicted - were in their lands... meaning to take over. Athena - being a highrank - would have to let Phantom and Death know... if they didn't know already. Would Thantos want to stay and fight? Mostlikely not... but there was one thing gaurenteed: There would be a battle later on. As her blue eyes searched the darkness for some sign of an attack, she backed off... hoping he wasn't coming after her. -x- ooc;; Dead or were you continuing? XD
