"Oh, the joys of an early morning. About the equivalent of a kidney stone!"
Oh yes, Irony was much fun to talk to in a half-sleeping state. Which was now. It was very early morning, and this wolfess wasn't a morning person. The sun was just now starting to highlight the horizon with it's bright oranges and reds, gracing the world with the fact that, yes, everyone had sadly lived to see another day. Oh, joy. Just what she wanted, another twenty four hours living through this hell. Sadly, Irony had quite a few duties to attend to throughout her day. There was no such thing as a lazy day for her, those had died a few weeks after entering the Nozomi pack lands. After she had been allowed to join the pack, she had kept herself busy, and that become even more fun when she was given the position of Gamma, showing new wolves around and judging them if they would want to eventually want to join the pack. Just what every wolf dreamed of! (Please note the sarcasm. =D)
Almost sub-conciousally, Irony began to hum the tone to "The Sky and the Sun and the Dawn" to herself. This was the song she had taught to her pups, along with many other songs. Many of those songs had to do with sailing, morning, or both. That had been her life, the sea had, and now she was stuck here... on dry land. Without thinking, Irony glanced down at the "Faith" symbol on her shoulder, and knew that it was there for a reason, the saying was "To remain faithful in everything you do." and that was Irony's goal, now. They wouldn't want her to just give up because she didn't like something or something wasn't going her way, oh no. She knew that if she wanted to go to Heaven, she'd have to do things right... or so she had been told since she was a pup. Irony was convinced she was already going to hell anyways, considering she had left the pack to go sailing with a handsome stranger who had eventually becom her mate and the mate she would have two litters of childern with. But now that was over, thanks to that night...
But Irony didn't want to think about that. Shaking her head, she continued to hum the song a little more conciousally now, trying to keep herself focused on hitting all the right notes in all the right places. Her pale blue eyes glanced around the quiet, mostly empty valley, searching for some food. Irony's body was different than most. It was long, but short. Her legs held a good amount of muscle, and were very long. She was thin, but not in an unhealthy way. For one couldn't see her ribs sticking out through her short, light gray coat even if they wanted to. On her forepaws were two bandages, one on each leg, and those had been there for quite some time, and she had never taken them off. She was afraid of what she might see if she did. However, the most interesting part about this wolf was the strange symbol on her shoulder. The Japanese sign for "Faith." It had come from her old pack's branding, and would stay there forever and ever. Again, Irony's mind was drifting to places she didn't want it to be at.
She started to softly sing the song, focusing her mind back on that. She started to drift back into conciousness, and before long, was much more awake. Irony was walking at a decent pace now, looking alive instead of zombie-like and slow. She shook her head a little to clear her thoughts, and instead focused on the current goal: breakfast. Irony listened carefully for any sign of life, and eventually heard a small squeak and a rustle in the grass not too far away. Ears up and body tense, Irony heard it once more, and she pounced at it, almost like a cat might. With a dying little squeak of pain, the mouse was dead quickly. "Clean and quick, that's the way to do it." She told herself with a satisfied smile. She quickly at the little mouse, and left the rest of the corpse alone. She continued forward, in a much better mood than before. [/blockquote]
