Jack chuckled warmly to himself, fiddling with the leftovers of a scrawny fish. For once, he had a fleeting moment of fullness-the one thing the large, tentacled wolf strived for in life. And it was surprising that he didn’t feel it more often, for he was quite stockier than most pack wolves, let alone loners. Wagging his red tail behind him, he looked down at the mess at his paws with large, golden eyes. He hesitated in leaving it behind, and instead greedily took another scrap and swallowed it down before he could even taste it.
No more than half an hour later, as he toddled along, ears and tail pricked at alert, he couldn’t help but feel a little growl in his belly. Licking his lips, his last meal was the last thing on his mind. He was thinking something a little more...filling, than a little salmon. [/size]

Velia meandered along the side of the lake, quite bored, honestly. She was sad Kaige hadn't picked her as his mate, but whatever. It wasn't her choice. She sighed quietly to herself, the dainty little fae walking elegantly along. It was true, she was very beautiful, but that didn't matter to her. She didn't enjoy being pretty. Yes, it was "a blessing" if you were to count them, but she didn't like it. And soon the other half of her would come out. The evil half.

Jack sniffed the air hesitantly, making sure he really smelled what he thought he did. He thought over whether he should investigate or not in his head, a little cautious of what he was getting into at the moment. Another growl from his insatiable stomach was all he needed to send him trotting merrily toward the female wolf’s scent, though. He caught sight of the white she-wolf immediately, the dark, tranquil lake making her stick out like a sore thumb. Black lips quivering in delight, he strolled up to her without any more prudence. In a low whisper, he called out to her less than quietly, “What’s someone like you doing out this late?”

Velia jumped slightly, turning around to see who was speaking to her. She let out a small gasp at his appearance. Ew. Creepy. Beyond creepy. "What, a she-wolf's not allowed to be out past her bedtime anymore?" She shot back quickly, she didn't have a good feeling about this wolf. Like, at all.
