Okay so I've been working on this Book for about 4 years now. I wrote it once and it was about 120 pages long. I restarted it and got to about 80 or 90 something pages before I restarted it again. I'm now on 155 and I'm not even halfway done yet, I'm hoping to reach like 400 or more pages before I'm done =] This is just the very beginning part of it (not even the first chapter) I might put up some more later on, but yeah..enjoy =D
The sun peered over the horizon painting the sky in beautiful colors that shone vividly among the area. Birds stretched from their nest and flew across the morning sky. Trees swayed against the trivial breeze that swept across the land. It was a peaceful sunrise, like a dream that one would not wake from, but to keep a hold of, but like some dreams, the tranquil morning promptly faded into a nightmare. The sky grew dark smothering any potential illuminate that tempted to erupt through the clouds and reach the raging conflict below. An eerie feeling was swept across the land, but no one seemed to pay much attention to the dense clouds above, threatening to break any minute. A meretricious sound flashed through the valley causing some of the dragons to press their claws to their ears to stop the atrocious sound, causing their opponents too strict effortlessly.
As if on cue the cloud destitute sending a downpour of rain colliding into the dragons with no warning at all, causing some of them to slip and tumble to the ground with a sickening crack. Lightning lit up the sky blinding others while thunder roared across the sky. The storm raged on like no tomorrow, the wind puncture through the valley ripping up trees from their roots and flinging them into the sky smacking into unexpecting dragons.
The sound of dragons crying out for anguish as their life only hung onto a single thread, tears stringing the eyes of those who watched their love ones collapse into the darkness below, the sickening sound of bones cracking and blood.
A bitter cold and harsh holler erupted through the sky, even causing the thunder to become silent as a huge figure lunged into the sky, causing some of the smaller dragons to shiver in fear as the watched the immense figure came closer. His scales were darker then the starless night, blood glistened in the dim light, black coal eyes looked out into the world with much hatred. Fangs punctuate from his upper and lower jaws a mixture of venom and blood dropped from them and hit the ground far below instantly killing anyone it hit. An enormous horn sat upon his head followed by long thin spikes that ran down his spike and ended at his tail where four large spikes poked out on each side of his tail filled with venom that could easily kill a dragon instantly.
The younger dragons flew from his appearance a shiver running down their spine and eyes wide with fear, while the older dragons held their heads high, but deep down inside their heart clung with fright as they watched as the beast ripped its way through the dragons, sharp claws clinging to the scales of innocent dragons and ripping them apart in a flash; old or young, it didn’t matter.
In a flash his claws reached forward and grabbed a white dragon from the crowd and pulled her close. She was rather beautiful, but her white scales were stain from blood, her icy blue eyes were weary from the fight, but remained strong and narrow as she looked directly into the deadly eyes of the beast before her. Feather wings were compressed to her sides and a golden pendant hung from her neck shining brightly.
“Do you really think you can defeat me, Moonlight?” His voice was bitter cold and lifeless, his tongue rolled in his mouth causing his voice coming out like a snake hissing.
“No, I don’t think I can defeat you, but I know who can. The prophecy is already starting to come true, and that scares you doesn’t it Thunder?” She said with a smirk placed across her maw. Thunder growled gritting his teeth together as he let his claws rip through her scales causing more blood to flow from her open wound.
“It won’t come true if you’re dead, my dear.” He said to her through narrowed eyes.
“You’re wrong Thunder. The eggs are almost ready to hatch.” She said with a chuckle watching as a swarm of anger flashed through Thunder’s eyes as he threw her aside.
“I’ll get to you later, but I would watch your back Moonlight and your children you never know when I’ll be coming to kill.” With that he flew off into the dark sky along with the rest of his dragons, thrusting the other dragons out of the way as they made their way through the valley.
Moonlight took deep ragged breaths as blood trickled down her throat. She turned her head to her dragons, a small smile spread across her maw as she flew higher into the sky. “Everyone rest up, the time has come, there is no longer to fear. The prophecy is already coming true. No time to waist tears on the departed or worry about tomorrow, for soon Thunder will be defeated and Shabora will be returned to its rightful state!” With this the dragons cheered as Moonlight gradually made her way to the top of the largest mountain on the Southern Side she landed at the edge of a cliff and made her way into her den. It was very large and roomy enough for her and five other dragons her size. Her eyes then landed upon a huge next that settled near the back of the cave and five large eggs. A soft sigh escaped the large dragon as she gradually made her way to her nest; she wrapped herself around it and placed her head as close to her eggs as she could.
“Sleep well my darlings.” She whispered under her breath as she closed her eyes and soon fell into a deep sleep.
