Things were different now. They didn't feel different...well for the most part. It been a whole month since the death of Kaige...and she was slowly healing. Her and Kaizer had been mates now for a week. She honestly wasn't in love with him. She liked him a lot. She mostly said yes because he was kind to her and her pups needed a father figure around, even if they really didn't like him yet.
She felt as if she was betraying Kaige. Being happy...being with someone else...breaking her promise....A sigh escaped her maw as she tried to push the thought from her mind. She told herself she didn't want to leave her pups in the world alone, and now they had a mother...and a father...
She just wish it wasn't so hard moving on. Why wasn't she a hundred percent happy?....but she knew why...she didn't need to ask.

This was so strange. This feeling he had for her... it wasn't normal. He wasn't even used to feeling anything let alone love. He was in love with Kali. His bad side hadn't been showing very often now, and never around Kali... that was the strange part. Why she had said yes was a mystery, and why he had asked in the first place was even stranger. Oh well. He walked through the forest when he smelled a familiar scent, following it, he found Kali. "Hello." He said with a light smile.

"Hello," Kali said with a smile as she walked up close to him. This felt...almost right. Kali would never admit something was missing in her life. She felt as if she was also betraying Kaizer...as if she was only with him because she didn't want to miss Kaige as much as she did. "How are you?" She asked him.

I hate her. I hate her. I hate her.
The thought ran through his mind over and over again. He hated her and everything about her. She had ruined everything. He was supposed to be dead, not alive. He died because that's what fate had in store for him. He wanted to be dead. He would rather be dead. But no. She had to go and bring him. And worst of all, she had given him one of her lives so he could live. He would have to put up with that fact for the rest of his life. He didn't like the thought of that. He wouldn't live with that. He could kill himself if he wanted to and just waste the life she had given him. The thought made him laugh brutally. There was no humor behind it. There was no kindness. There was no caring. There was nothing. It was all gone.
I hate her. I hate her. I hate her.
It had only been what, a few weeks? Being dead wasn't all that bad. It had its perks, but it also had its downs. He couldn't figure out what it was that was missing. Why couldn't he remember? It had to have been something important if it was bothering him this much. Why had being dead been so terrible? He was alone for the most part, yes, but what was it? He tried desperately to remember. Who.. what? Wait. Something seemed to register in his mind and his eyes snapped open even wider. He had finally figured it out. He knew what it was that was missing and it would heal the hole that was beginning to form in his heart. It was Kali and he had to find her.
I love her. I love her. I love her.
Luckily for him, fate was on his side. He knew the scent before it had ever really reached him. He could feel his heart beating against his chest and it wasn't because he was running hard. It was because he hadn't seen Kali since the day of his death. She was the last thing he had thought of before the darkness took over. He hoped she was alright. He hadn't seen her in the spirit world, so he knew she had had enough common sense to stay alive and at least look after the pups. The pups. His mind wandered to Michiko. She was there when he had died. He hoped she was alright as well. He wasn't sure why, but he was closer to her than his three sons. He shook the thoughts from his head and focused on getting to Kali. He knew she was near.
I love her. I love her. I love her.
The thought kept running through his mind as he grew closer and closer with each running step he took. He stopped dead when another scent hit him. It was unfamiliar... and it was a male. His blood red eyes narrowed slightly and he took a few steps forward, growing closer. This wasn't good. He could feel it. And when he got to the scene, his feelings were right. He had hoped he was wrong, but he wasn't. He felt his heart drop into his stomach and the look across his face made it seem like he had just been slapped. When he spoke, his voice was low and small like a lost pup. "Kali...," he said, looking at her in confusion before looking to the male. "What's going on?" [/blockquote]

"K-Kaige!" Kali said as she whipped around and looked at Kaige. At first she thought it was a dream, her heart pounded in her chest, she seemed to lost her breath or forgotten how to breath. This couldn't be happening. Kaige was dead! Or at least he was dead....She then realized she was close to Kaizer...really close...she took a few steps away from him, her eyes never leaving Kaige.
"Y-you're alive?" She whispered. She could feel the tears linger in her eyes. She believed him to be dead, and now he was back, he was back and he saw her with Kaizer. Did he register that they were mates now? But she didn't love Kaizer. She cared for him; yes, but she was in love with Kaige and no body else. "H-how?" She couldn't really seemed to get her words right. She felt like she betrayed both of them. She hung her head in shame. As if she just done a terrible crime.

"Kali... this is him... isn't it?" Kaizer asked, but it wasn't a question. It was a statement. His voice was quite lifeless... there was nothing in it. No emotion, and his eyes and facial expressions were proving nothing. Again, he was back in that numb state. All in an instant. Inside, he was hurt... badly. He knew she'd want this male more than himself. For once... he thought he might be happy. He was wrong. Dead wrong.
He shook his head. "I just thought..." He started, not sure how to go about saying what he wanted to say. He decided not to say anything more... for his voice sounded slightly hurt when he had said that. It was obvious Kaige was Kali's mate... it was too obvious. And he wanted to leave... and he would in a very short time. He'd go back to ignoring everything and everyone. He was hurt... and angry.

He knew something was up and it wasn't good. He could see it and he could feel it. His blood red gaze went from one wolf to the other as he tried to proccess everything. He could feel his heart sinking even more and a cold feeliong began to take over. "Shinrin.. she gave me one of her lives," he said in the same tone, though it seemed more distant this time. And at that point, he had figured it all out. She was with someone else. She hadn't been waiting for him or anything of the sort. She went and got someone else. The cold feeling went even deeper as a look of betrayal swept across his eyes. Aside from that, anger started to build. He had died and she had paired up with someone else. It wouldn't have been such a big deal if she hadn't of said what she did so long ago.
"You're with him." It wasn't a question. He knew better than that. She could try to deny it all she wanted, but he knew. The feeling of betrayal deepened as well, but there was no hurt in his voice or in his expression. "So... when you said you'd always love me and no one else, that was just a lie. You were just playing me. You never cared about us at all." Disgust soon replaced betrayal and the anger soon replaced both of them. "You know, I was being honest when I said I wouldn't love anyone else and that I'd rather be dead than be alone." He shook his head, feeling the anger gradually building up. "And right now, I'd rather be dead. Of course, you'd want that so you can be happy. At least you're happy. I won't take that away from you. I won't try and win you back. You've got someone, so that's final."
He didn't want to let this get to him, but he couldn't help it. After all that they had been through, after everything they had said, she betrayed him. It was more than he could handle, but he was doing fine for the most part. And this was it. He and Kali were no more. There was nothing. It was over. The anger went away and a terrible look of sadness crossed over, but it soon disappeared into nothing. His expression was blank and when he spoke, his voice was colder than the air that surrounded them. "Your sister's were right about you. Imagine that." He snorted in disgust. "Enjoy life, Kali. This is the last time you will ever see me. This is the last time you will ever hear from me. Don't come running after me. Don't come looking for me. Don't even think about me." With that, he turned and began to head off into the forest, and as he disappeared, he said one last thing before he was gone for good.
"I don't want you back."

Kaige's words struck through Kali's heart like a knife. She never felt such pain -- as she did right now. She felt like a traitor. Like a horrible wolf. She could feel her heart breaking into pieces as she watched him leave. She felt cold, dreadful cold, and alone....she didn't even get a chance to speak. She didn't even get to tell Kaige...that he was wrong...oh how wrong he was. She didn't love Kaizer. She cared for him, but she wasn't in love with him, and he didn't let her explain! But how could she blame him? The fault was on her own. Instead of mourning him and waited until the pups where old before she met with Kaige...she went and got together only a few weeks after his death. How could she be so stupid?
And now. The thing that she feared most in her life happened. Kaige had left her. He said they were over. He told her not to go after him. She could feel the tears burning in her eyes, but she didn't let them fall....she trembled as she turned her gaze over to Kaizer, but her eyes were emotionless and empty. She couldn't think properly nor could she speak.
"Kaizer..." She whispered. She felt bad. Not only did she betray Kaige...but she betrayed him. Pulled him along pretending to love him. She was horrible. She knew that. "I-I'm so sorry...I didn't mean...I didn't mean for this to happen....I-I..." She paused, her words were soon slurred as tears trickled down her cheek. "I should have left. I should have left....but....I didn't.....I'm horrible....I'm horrible." She felt her knees cave in and she tumbled to the ground. She could hear the thunder off in the distance, but she didn't care.
She loved Kaige. No correction. She loves Kaige. He was her heart and soul, but now he believed she was a liar and a traitor. He probably believed that she was just some whore. Like her sister's said. She never forgotten him. Not a single day went by that she had not shed a tear for him. Not a single day go by where she was with Kaizer...when she really wanted to be with Kaige. Kaizer was only her company...only someone she could talk to when she was lonely...he was more of a friend.
She felt so alone now. Kaige was mad at her. Kaizer was probably pissed off to for using him in such away. She felt guilty, but she knew no matter what she said would change the fact. No mater what she did it wouldn't undo the horrible thing she had done. It was unforgivable, forgiveness was out of the question.
It was then the rain started to fall. Little at first, where Kali didn't even notice it....until it began to pour. Her fur soon got soak and wet and the dirt beneath her turned into mud which stuck upon her white fur. The rain mixing with her salty tears. She didn't care though. It could rain all it wanted. It wouldn't change anything.
"I know you hate me Kaizer....I hate myself too. What I done to both of you is unforgivable, and I won't dare ask you such an unthinkable thing. I-I just want you to know...I didn't plan this...I-I didn't mean to hurt you...or Kaige....I-I...I just...I..." She couldn't even finish her sentence. She didn't even know if Kaizer was still there or if he left a long time ago. She sighed as she closed her eyes, letting the rain drop down from the sky. She just wanted to die. Then the world would be a better place. Kaige would probably get back together with Shinrin or Velia and be happy....he thought she was happy...but she was miserable...she been miserable since the day he died. Sure there been a smile here and a laughter there, but that didn't mean she was happy.
Kaige...I'm so sorry. I love you so much. I wish you could see that. I-I didn't mean for this to happen...I-I'll always love you. No matter what She wasn't going to go after him. What was the point? She knew what he was like. He was pissed off at her, and she didn't blame him. She wanted to go to him and tell him, her side of the story, but what then? Did she honestly believe he would get back together with her? She doubted it. She ruined her chance of happiness, but how was she supposed to know he was coming back? Even still she should have left. She shouldn't have spoken to Kaizer. She should have left.
She pushed her weak frame up from the body, her legs could barley hold herself up. She wasn't sure what to do. Not once in her life did she feel this much pain before, it was almost unbearable. She sat back down upon the ground. What was she supposed to do? Just sit here and do nothing? Just watch the love of her life walk away from her? She had to be strong. Just like the old Kali...no....it was the old Kali had gotten her in trouble in the first place.
I am nothing without you Kaige. I owe you everything. You changed my life completely. You made me see that love was possible...even if you're a vampire. And I stomped upon that. I walked over that love like it didn't even matter. But it does matter! I just wish you could see...and understand...how much I love you...and how much pain I'm in right now... She sighed. What now? She sat there. Her ears pinned back against her head and a frown placed across her maw. The rain was still pouring down and Kali's whole fur was mixed with mud and rain.
"Good-bye Kaige." She whispered as she pushed herself up from the ground and began to ran through the forest. She wasn't sure where she was going, but she knew what she was going to do. She wasn't going to run after Kaige. No. Like he said. They were over. No matter how much it killed her....and that is what she was going to do. Kill herself. Kill herself so she can be free of his heartache. Nothing could be worst then this pain.
